MINI IC Cable Adapters

Question

Q: I have a size 1.5 stainless steel needle tip in my collection. What size cable do I use it with? I own a 4” and 5” complete Twist set. I can’t make these cables work. Can I use an adapter set so I can use these cables or do I need to get a special cable for this tip? Marjorie

Q: How do you tighten the adapter to the cable the hole is so small the small tightening pin won't work could you tell me what I should be using I don't want to over tighten but I don't want it coming undone while I am knitting either!

You must use a Mini cable with this size of tip. No, there are no adapters that you can use to make it work with other cables.

Hi Marjorie, There is no adapter for a 5 inch US-1.5 tip to attach to your twist cables in your set. You will need a Twist Mini join cable listed here:

No, ChiaoGoo doesn't make any adapters that work like that.

Hi Stacey, There is no adapter manufactured by ChiaoGoo to attach a US-6 (S) tip to a 50 inch (L) cable, sorry about that. The only cable your tips would attach to would be a 60 inch (S) cable, and with your 4 inch tips attached instead of 5 inch tips, the circular would measure 58 inches. Thank you for asking. The Mini Adapters fit both the regular-sized ChiaoGoo tightening keys and the Mini tightening keys. You'll need 2 keys to tighten the adapter onto a cable. Screw the adapter onto the cable with your fingers as tight as you can first. Then, place a key into the hole on the adapter and another key into the hole on the cable. Use the keys to turn the adapter and the cable in opposite directions. They shouldn't visibly move. After using the tightening keys you should not be able to unscrew the adapter from the cable with your fingers.
