Knitter's Pride Nova Platina Circular Knitting Needles

LOVE these fixed circulars! The polished chrome tips are very pointy, yet do not make my fingers sore, the cables do not twist or curl up (!) and the cable-to-tip joins are smooth as butter. The "zen" of knitting is enhanced by the pure pleasure of working with these needles. I used to love my KnitPicks, and my ChiaoGoos; now they sit alone and lonely in the bottom of my knitting bag; haven't touched them since I first tried the Platina.

** This review is for 9" circulars ONLY. I really wanted to love these as much as I love my other Nova Platinas, but I"m sad to say that I don't like them. The needle portion is about 1/2" or so longer than ChiaoGoo 9" circs, and this makes a huge difference. While the join is smooth, the extra length of the needle causes my yarn to catch. The needles are simply too long for my tastes and comfort. The finish is the same high quality you expect from Nova Platinas, and the cables are great - not too stiff, and not too floppy. The point is perfect for sock knitting, pointy enough to do a K2TOG easily, but not so pointy that they hurt my fingers. I really wanted to give a 5 star review, but unfortunately, I cannot.
