The ChiaoGoo SPIN 5 inch Bamboo Small interchangeable set features the same bamboo needles and nylon cords that you know and love. The needle tips feature a lifeline hole that makes adding a lifeline as simple as knitting across the row. The sets come packaged in an elegant black and white case with a black ribbon. The case is compact (6" x 8" closed) with 29 inner pockets for tips and one outside zippered pocket.
Each set includes:
7 pairs of 5" (13 cm) needle tips.
US sizes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 / Metric sizes 2.75, 3.25, 3.5, 3.75, 4, 4.5, and 5 mm.
3 "S" cords to make circular sizes: 24" (60 cm), 32" (80 cm), and 40" (100 cm).
One "S" cord connector.
Two "S" end caps
Two cord keys.
Stitch markers.
One needle gauge/ruler.
One elegant, compact fabric case for storage.
Q:
When would I use 4” instead of 5” needles? I assume the shorter needles are for knitting sleeves in the round, or socks, etc. Can I buy individual 4” needles as needed?

A:
The 4" tips are required if you need to knit something in the round with a 16" circular (like a hat). Otherwise it's entirely personal preference. We have the 4" tips available piecemeal so you can individual sizes if needed.

Q:
is there a picture of the tips showing the pointy end? I want to see how pointy the tips are. I love my metal tips because they are pointy. I know bamboo tips can be nice and pointy or they can be to rounded.

Hi Rossyl,
The term "Twist" refers to the stainless steel interchangeable tips and the Twist red nylon coated steel cables and the term "Spin" refers to the bamboo interchangeable tips and the Spin clear poly cables. The Twist and Spin tips are interchangeable with all of the cables, both the Twist and Spin cables.

The cords in the set measure approximately 14", 22", and 30" without the 5" tips attached. The length with tips attached is 24", 32", and 40".
