Q: why do they call this "lace"? If I am not a lace knitter, but a sweater knitting would I want a different set?

The "lace" part means that the tips are sharper with a longer taper on the points. They are great for any type of knitting. If you like sharp tips then they are an excellent choice; however, if you prefer blunt tips then you would want a different set.

Hi PJ, The only thing you will need to attach US-2 through US-4 tips to your mini cables is a mini cable adapter. This allows mini twist cables to be attached to US tip sizes US-2 through US-8 which have a (S) or small join connection. They are located here:

Hi Catherine, There is additional slots for adding more tips. The slots for the larger sizes are all open and there is an additional row on both sides inside the case for more tips. Quite a bit of storage. Thank you for asking. Tracy, Handsome Fibers.

Hi Leonore,

The ChiaoGoo Red Lace circular knitting needles are called just that, two needles joined by a stainless steel cable in various lengths. The Twist label is for the Interchangeable knitting needle tips. The Twist version is stainless steel and the other interchangeable tips made by ChiaoGoo are called Spin, and they are bamboo interchangeable tips.
