Q: how long are the tips they are to be for socks. thx

Asked by: Patricia A Wilson - 7/31/2021
A: Hi Patricia,

They are approximately 3-3/4 inches from the tip of the needle to the join of the cable. We recommend 9" circulars for knitting socks in the round, 40" circulars for knitting socks using magic loop, or 2x 24" circulars for knitting socks using the 2-needle method.

Q: Hi! I have ordered your chiaogoo red lace 16”fixed circulars and like that the needle tip is a bit longer than others, measuring about 3 3/4”. Could you please tell me if you have any 16” fixed circulars in bamboo or wood having the same length needle tip? The chiaogoo bamboo description does not state the length of the actual needle part. The brand of the needle does not matter. In other words, I am looking for a bamboo or wooden 16” need with longer tips. Thanks very much for any recommendations that you can give me.

Asked by: Eleanor - 3/12/2019
A: Unfortunately we don't have any 16" wood/bamboo needles with the longer 3.75" tips. Most of them are approximately 3.5" or a bit shorter.

Q: _Would these needles be appropriate length for knitting the Fair Isle Irish Fisherman kep?

Asked by: Susan - 11/30/2018
A: The 16" circulars are the correct length for knitting adult hats in the round. You will also need either double points or a longer circular (for magic loop) to knit the top of hats where the circumference of the hat is smaller than 16".
