Q: Hello, I'm going to buy a chiao goo Size 19, 32" circular needle and I need to know whether there is a difference between the lace version and the regular version at that size. I'm going to knit a cowl with large yarn. Do you recommend one or the other ? Or, at that large of a size, is it a big difference? Thank you for any advice! Debra

Hi Iris, These are fixed circular needles and not interchangeables, sorry about that. We do sell the 3 inch shortie interchangeable tips in a US-000. They are located here: https://www.handsomefibers.com/ChiaoGoo-TWIST-3-inch-8cm-Stainless-Steel-Lace-IC-Tips. Thank you for asking. Tracy, Handsome Fibers.

The US 19 isn't made in the Regular Reds - only the Red Lace. Needle choice though is largely personal preference so if you know that you prefer a lace tip I would go with the Red Lace, but if you prefer a blunter tip you could try the Knitter's Pride Basix.

The Red Lace have a long, sharp lace tip and a straight stalk while the Regular Red have a shorter, blunter tip with an ergonomic bend in the stalk near the join.

Hi Selma,

The price of the needles increase as the US size increases. The $1 or more is the price plus the increase due to the larger sizes costing more.

I hope this makes sense.

Thank you for asking.
